Internet Casino Groups Ponder Next Moves 19 Oct 2006 The future of the online casino industry is hardly in doubt, but that hasn't stopped online casino companies from doing a little soul-searching as of late. It used to be the case that one could be in Florida or some other U.S. territory and gamble at an online casino with little worry that you were breaking a law. Now, of course, if you're an online casino enthusiast then you've likely already heard about the recent Congressional decision to ban online casino gambling. You likely already know what it means for you, if you like to gamble online. The focus from the U.S. to Europe and Asia some would argue was long needed for an online casino industry that has long been relying too much on profits from U.S. wagers. You can't put all your eggs in one basket, as the saying goes, and then expect that you can shake them around and they'll still be intact at the end (unless they are already cooked). The online casino industry has long been like an egg being shaken around by forces both within and outside of its control. Will online casino companies make do with their U.K. or other European markets, and still move forward with plans to operate in the rest of Asia too? Or have too many things changed for the industry to warrant current contracts between the countries and the online casinos that wish to operate within them? Well, time will only tell for those online casino companies brave enough to forge ahead and find out.
